Modular Synthesizer This is a modular synthesis system that I designed for a live performance with Kris Geffen in 2009. There are various conventional structures such as wavetable oscillators, filters, and sequencers. They are routed via a novel use of the matrixctrl as a sort of Synthi like pin panel.More Info Patcher |

Oscillator bpatcher This is one of the bpatchers that I put together for use in a basic synthesis system. My intention was to make some abstractions that made it simpler to implement repatchable synthesis in a live setting. I eventually reused some of these ideas in the modular synthesizer patcher.More Info Patcher |

Stereo FM Noise Box Does exactly what you’d think. Interesting stereo effects created by arbitrary amounts of feedback. MSP ordinarily disallows feedback. I “cheated” and achieved the effect in this patcher via tapin~ and tapout~, which effectively bypasses this limitation by adding a millisecond of delay.More Info Patcher |

808 Emulations Here are some recretions of the various synthesis techniques used in the Roland TR-808. Jordan Whilcott spent a lot of time examining the 808 schematics in order to come up with these faithful recreations in Max-speak for one of our performances at TESC.More Info Patchers |

Audio/Video Manipulation (Jitter) This is an extremely simple example of a Jitter patcher that imposes timecode scrubbing on video playback. The parameters are controlled by the amplitude of an audio stream.More Info Patcher |
